Chief Engineer

The Hotel Chief Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the hotel’s physical facilities, which generally include air conditioning, heating, water supply, hoists, refrigerators, lighting, fire fighting equipment and all mechanical devices.

Large hotel operations have their own painting, locksmith, furniture repair and carpentry divisions.

In smaller establishments, the engineer must be familiar with all of these activities or may contract out these services.
